Hello, friends! I hope you've all been safe and healthy during these trying times. What kinds of things have you been up to? Perhaps some of you have tried out new recipes, started a garden, or read some interesting books. As for me, well, I've adopted a puppy.
The little puppy's name is Bunnie, and he has been the most delightful, silliest, ball of fur. We like to go on walks together and eat delicious snacks while watching Dog Whisperer. I keep thinking to myself that he came into my life at just the right time. Since stepping paw to my home, not a single day has passed where I did not laugh or had my heartstrings tugged at. He truly is the cutest blessing I've ever received.
However, that furry blessing has also had my hands full. I'd say that being a pup mom is the equivalent of raising a toddler. Bunnie has made tremendous progress on his training, however, and is learning fast. With each passing day, I'm finally starting to regain some of the free time I'd lost a few months ago -- why I've even started a garden.
Thus far, my plants are all still indoors planted in an egg carton. I've recently moved my cucumbers over to small plastic pots, and they've just started to flower. It has certainly been a fun learning experience. Although a few plants may have wilted due to Minnesota's chilly spring seeping into my porch, a few more have blossomed in its place. This is perhaps the most exciting project I've been working on. I can't wait to feast upon fresh cucumbers, peppers, and pick homegrown herbs to season my dishes. I also plan to grow a bed of roses in my front yard, although it may yet be too cold. Spring is such an incredible season, full of life, rebirth, and sunlight. If it weren't for my allergies, I'd say it was my favorite.
Other than that, I've been binging Disney classics, Supernanny, and playing video games. On Thursdays, my husband and I like to eat our dinner while watching Masked Singer. Meanwhile, in my free time, I've been on the Switch playing Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing.
Although life may not be as it were before, I try to find joy in all things, delighting in warm home-cooked meals, and spending time with my family and myself. I give thanks for the castle roof over my head, and for the many friends that care for me.
To all of my dear readers, I just want to say, stay strong and enjoy living in the moment. Though many negative things come our way, the positives will always outweigh them.
