Welcome back, my friends and thank you again for visiting Princess Nanabuns. These last few months have been difficult for me. As a result, my body suffered the consequences. It served as an arduous reminder to better care for my health.
Our bodies work hard to ensure that we are healthy and able. Sometimes, that means getting sick. It is our body's way of telling us that we must seek treatment, food, and rest.
We must listen carefully, so we do not become ill. I'm sure you have a beautiful life that you'd much rather enjoy. Without ado, here are nine tips to help you relax and unwind during those trying times.
1) Light a Candle with a Pleasant Aroma
Whenever I'm faced with a difficult task, or just when I'm feeling stressed, lighting a candle can instantly change the mood. The ambient light creates a soft and gentle atmosphere that causes our body to relax. Not only that, but the smell of a candle can transport your senses.
Nowadays, there's a scent for everything. You could be on a tropical island, in a rose garden or a bakery full of freshly baked desserts. I'm personally very fond of fruity and flowery scents.
2) Put on Some Quiet Music
I feel that music is the global language of the world. No matter the circumstance, a harmonious tune has the power to influence our emotions. On an exceptionally long day, I enjoy winding down to the sound of soft jazz or a meditative flute. Choose simple music with little to no lyrics, no fancy beats, or jarring rhythms. Appreciate the mellow tones. Allow your brain to absorb the sounds and your mind to be still.
3) Wear Comfortable Clothing
The easiest way to relax is by wearing comfortable loose clothing. I like to put on a long flowy dress because it makes me feel whimsical without losing comfort or grace. Whatever you choose to wear, ensure that it allows your skin to breathe. Bonus points if it has a cute design.
4) Take a Walk with Nature
There is nothing better than having the warm sun on your back, the soft breeze on your skin and listening to the delightful sounds of nature. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the indoors, take some time to get a breath of fresh air. Once upon a time, we spent our daily lives hunting, farming, exploring, and socializing in the great outdoors. It is natural for us. Not only that but the most magnificent views all lie out there.
5) Pamper Yourself with a Fun Bubble Bath
I love bubble baths. They make me feel like a child again. I enjoy the way the bubbles swallow me up and melt against my skin. I enjoy the warmth of the water hugging my body, and the smell of clean soap. Bubble baths force you to relax and be still. Breathe, sit back, and enjoy.

6) Eat Something Delicious
There's a reason why we have the word, 'comfort food.' To have a hearty meal is a blessing. Of all the things that I am passionate about, food is notably high on the list. If you're a food fanatic, like me, please look forward to my upcoming food blog.
I love being able to taste the time, effort, and love put into a meal. Indulging in all of the savory flavors and vibrant textures truly feels like a reward after a long day. Your body will thank you. Just be careful not to overeat.
7) Have a Cup of Tea
There's never a wrong time to have a hot drink. The steam from your mug fills your nose with a delicious aroma. The hot drink brings a comforting warmth to your face as you sip. I highly recommend vanilla chai tea with one teaspoon of honey, one sugar, and one vanilla caramel creamer.
8) Meditate
While we are busy tackling the daily tasks of the world, we begin to lose a sense of self. We become too absorbed with the tasks at hand and forget about our well-being. As a result, the responsibilities start to stack up, and our minds become cluttered. In the long run, this can become emotionally taxing.
Take time to reset. Close your eyes, sit still, and empty those prying thoughts. We must do this every so often to ensure optimal performance.
9) Lie Down on Something Soft
To assure maximum comfortability, surround yourself with cushions, pillows, plushes, and fleece blankets. It feels as if you're receiving a hug from all of your pillows. You may even feel comfortable enough to curl up and take a little cat nap. Happy dreaming.
I hope you were able to relax, incorporating some of these tips. It is so important that we take care of our mental health. You are a marvelous being deserving of love and joy. Give much to the world, but do not forget about yourself.
What are some things you do to relax? Let me know in the comments. Thank you again for visiting my blog. Please do take care, and I hope to see you again in the next one.
