Dearest Readers,
I apologize that I haven't blogged in so long. It's been such a busy year. I've been adjusting to my new life with my beautiful bundle of joy, who is slowly becoming not so little. I can hardly believe that it's been nine months already. It certainly has not been easy.
I've been attending therapy, trying my best to get out of the house, spending time with friends, and surrounding myself with loved ones. Then, of course, there's the predicament of dealing with a minor work injury from the excessive overtime, but I've been managing.
Some days are more difficult than others, but I just think of my little Emily, and suddenly I feel more energetic. Perhaps this is what they call the power of love. I never realized that my heart could hold so much capacity for love. It's as if someone had cut open my heart and turned it into a little person.
One of the biggest highlights of my summer included spending time with my family and having them meet Emily. They flew over from California and stayed in my quiet home for a few days. My mom would prepare home-cooked meals every day, just like in my childhood. At that time, my aunt frequently visited, and we even went to the zoo and the garden conservatory.
As it was a scorching summer, my husband and I also took Emily out swimming. She isn't yet fond of cold water, but she eventually found the courage to splash around a bit. A big thanks to my lovely best friend for introducing us to small waterparks.
We ended the summer by attending two of Minnesota's biggest fairs. The first was the Minnesota State Fair, where I sampled a cotton candy float, duck egg toast, and pickle pizza. I must say that the pickle pizza was delicious, and I highly recommend it to those who love pickles, ranch, and pizza. Emily had the time of her life, and the sparkle in her fresh eyes just melted my husband and my hearts. She loved seeing the farm animals, the people, and the parade.
For the first time in my 18 years of living in Minnesota, I also attended the Renaissance Festival, and it was such a fantastic experience. It was like stepping back into a different era. There were princes, princesses, nobles, fairies, elves, and various creatures. The shops and merchandise were so mesmerizing to see. I especially enjoyed looking at all of the jewel-encrusted tiaras and flower crowns. I dressed as a noble lady and my daughter as a bunny sprite. If I had it my way, we would dress like this every day.
Lately, I have started romanticizing my life and journaling every day, recording all these magical memories, which has been the best thing for my mental health. I try to write as often as possible and appreciate the little things in my life. These things could be as simple as putting on a dreamy outfit, a pair of heels, painting my nails, and doing skin care.
Writing makes me so happy, so I want to get back to blogging. I'll be doing my best to write more. But, of course, to be a good writer is to experience plenty of things in life, so that is precisely what I plan to do.
I hope you'll come with me and experience this amazing little life as I continue to update these blogs.
With Love,
